is there a way to navigate communities by their topic. Or is it only search?

Thanks but that is just the long list of communities with minimum information on each one. Lots of scrolling. And you can easily miss something. I’d expect some hierarchical structure or cross referencing, where similar communities can be found together. And you can skip areas that don’t interest you. Music, Tech, Travel, Dogs, Cars, Politics, the Environment,…

Nothing whatsoever. Don’t sweat it, eventually people just find the most popular one since it has more content. It’s early days, fragmentation is inevitable but it won’t last.

Nothing stops it. But checking browse.feddit.de will help find them. Checking before creating a new one seems logical.

But it seems new instances like this one. Are slow to show up.

Long term. Seems likely the multiple communities some will die out and the bigger ones will be most popular. Or politics within the subject will devide membership. Very like redit dup subs.

But once you find the sub joining seems to be an issue. The Jerboa search won’t bring the sub up either.
