    I’d think it should be opt in, but they’re not even willing to entertain the idea of having neither selected and have the user choose on the basis they’d typically select to opt out. Perhaps that means you’re in the wrong.

      As I understand the post, you can disable data collection in the installer and the system settings?

      I’m personally fine with having to deselect a checkbox in the installer, as long as it clearly says you need to deselect to disable data collection.
