Not necessarily the case, but if it’s affecting your life so strongly, you might want to get checked by a medical professional.

Long COVID can destroy your life. Depression can destroy your life. Iron deficiency can ruin your life. A lot of things you might just think is just being tired may actually have a cause. Especially if simple fixes like “touch grass” style clichés do nothing for you.

It’s not always the answer, but it’s good to rule out in that case.

Our cats use it to beg for treats. Very rarely do I see them on it and not meowing for attention.

It’s valid, and it sucks. If you can even do $5, it’s worth it. But the world is absolutely against you right now. A lot of older folk don’t quite get how bad it’s gotten.

However, saving a dollar today is worth more than saving two dollars ten years from now. And having an emergency fund might actually save your life.

Hopefully something happens to shake up housing. These prices are absolutely criminal.

If I hadn’t saved, I probably would be dead right now. The US doesn’t really do healthcare or mental care, and I no longer can sustain myself. Long COVID is a bitch and doctors usually ignore it.

But if you’re banking on never having an emergency, go for it. There’s a balance to hit, at least in less developed countries like the US.

2. Learning the game engine real fast, as I haven’t used Godot before. But yes, that’s the plan. I have a minimal game loop I want to hit as the first target. And it’s not too much farther than the tutorial result I’m looking at + the main hook gameplay element of the game.

And of course that’s where the trail ends until it’s vetted enough to move forward.

There are games I want to make. I caught long COVID and barely had energy for my job. I decided now that I got laid off for having an invisible disability, I can learn how to make games while I can’t get a new one, but I’m having issues thinking long enough to learn… I’ve almost started my game and that’s where I’m stuck.

Which end? The main story is just a narrative device, in fact you shouldn’t really obey the narrator at all. Calling any end “The End” doesn’t make sense in the context of the game, really. Unless you just broke out of the mind control facility three times then called it quits? That end is supposed to be non enticing so that you try literally anything else before putting it down. I think the going insane end sticks with me the most. Although the game dev commentary in the recent release is fun.

Most boomers I know still can’t use a mouse. Millennials and gen X fill most of the old Internet in my mind, but the original '91 Internet was a lot of tech focused boomers, but also was significantly Gen X. '95-'99 seemed to pick up more traction with my generation.

As a cat owner, can confirm cats are always bad. The best bad decisions I’ve made, are my two little fuzz balls. And I hope they’re happy with me as well.

For showing my point I like the joke that was made of the pastor in Katrina turning down help from the coast guard three times because God will save me, then drowning, getting to the pearly gates and asking why he wasn’t saved. The response was “I tried three times. You didn’t get on any of the helicopters I sent to save you.” There are direct parallels to religious figures claiming God will save them from COVID and not wearing masks or getting vaccines or anything, then dieing of COVID not months later. And those weren’t jokes. They were in the news…

Religion is taught very poorly here in a lot of places, and it’s very predatory in a lot of the US. Any religious television here is only a scam.

Sex worker could be fairly safe, if sex workers had any rights in my country. (context: USA. There are countries where sex workers are are least somewhat respected and have rights. Not here.) Then it would be about as safe as being a doctor who makes house calls, or hospice, or other jobs where you may be in private with another person for some reason.

A game with the time travel self interaction and self saving mechanics of Super Time Force Ultra. Doesn’t have to be a side scroller. Bonus points for getting multiplayer to work reasonably. I’ve been theorycrafting ways to do multiplayer like this for years (and ultimately most of it feels disjointed in theory so IDK). I’ve only seen one super low budget game using this mechanic (as a main game mechanic, not a side puzzle like the Ratchet and Clank time puzzles) and the reviews weren’t great.

I’ve been considering mixing it with 5D Chess with Time Travel mechanics and Advance Wars gameplay as a proof of concept and see how far that gets me… But I don’t have time or energy to work on it after work…

Reminds me of Majesty a little, but with a direct avatar. Majesty was fun, but is pretty dated. Didn’t really have the morale aspect, but that sounds interesting. I’ll have to see if I can find MLaaK to try out.
