Hi! I’m Anthony, and I’m from Canada. I’m part of the Jellyfin Core Team. I also enjoy Formula One, Grand Sumo, and 3D Printing.
Sorry to hear that. Chromecast (the old kind) has always been difficult to work with for us, as opposed to the Android/Google TV client where we’ve been able to make things a lot more reliable.
I hope we can get some contributors to give the Chromecast app another pass some time soon.
Regardless, we’ll be around if you ever need another alternative :-)
I’ll be honest, I have no idea. There were no toggles and as far as I can tell the IPK seems to be the same size. I would consult the terms and conditions of the LG Content Store and make the best decision for yourself 🙂
It was previously only available to webOS 6 (2022 models) or newer, then we expanded it to webOS 5/5.5 (2020 or newer), and now it’s all models.
Wow the spam was off the charts. Sucks to not have a “mass delete” function.
I banned the user who was spamming us, and nuked the comments. Mod Log shows they’re going around.
It’s coming.
A quick note - one of the updated components used during music playback has caused the Amazon release to fail testing. Fire OS devices will remain at the previous version for now, and a bug has been opened with Android/Google.
FYI
Due to a regression in our Jellyfin FFmpeg (https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/issues/10654), we’ve pushed a new combined Docker image at version 10.8.13-1
. All the server and web code is identical, it just has the updated jellyfin-ffmpeg package included. latest
has been updated to match.
Fixed, thanks.
Government cheese for all! Little American flags for others
Edit: I’m Canadian
I’m not approving any hat expenses
A fix is to disable the Power Management (or whatever it may be called) for the Android app in your phone’s settings. Depending on the manufacturer, this will have a a different name, and it is often quite aggressive. That said, there are some tailor-made music apps for Android, which are also a good choice.
It has the starting pieces of bigger changes to the playback engine.
I would figure this works. How did you install Jellyfin?
Is there a particular reason this is concerning? I’m all ears and can pass along any feedback.
IIRC it only works for music, and I believe only the most recent 100 items.
We haven’t had any other contributors come in with any more work for it, and even what exists was just from one person about a year or two ago.
To be honest, the 1-2 maintainers we have working on it have been mainly improving video playback.
To this day we have no idea why. If anyone has any suggestions, I’m all ears.
For Fintunes, it’s worth asking where you downloaded it from. Was it F-Droid?
I’m part of the Jellyfin Core Team, and for our own official app, the normal one (sideloaded APK or Google Play) has Cast support, while the F-android version doesn’t. It’s because Casting relies on a Google proprietary SDK module.
That’s right, casting isn’t available from either of our iOS clients for the time being. If your server is local, you can use the DLNA function in VLC to access your server and also Cast, or use Infuse’s cast ability as well.
If the Chromecast is a newer one with a remote (Chromecast with Google TV), then just install our Jellyfin for Android TV app from the Play Store.
Core team here. This is alright as there’s already precedent (see Findroid). You can always have fun with more/different colours though!
