  • In theory it should be mostly fine to touch, idk much about it either unfortunately. it might be a good idea to put some sort of spray on sealer if you will be touching it regularly and are concerned about it at all.

It is definitely dangerous to sand or cut with a saw or something, definitely want to do that outside with gloves and a respirator because then you’re getting loose fibers both on you and airborne.

  • I doubt windows either has or wants to have that functionality, given their more business/general purpose oriented focus, also the steam deck runs on Linux.

A part of me wonders if it would be possible to put the Linux distro/is of a steam deck onto a dedicated gaming computer to get some of the optimisations from it like that.

  • There’s a browser based version of Oregon Trail I’ve played a fair amount of

the Vex series are pretty good parkour/platformers that even had their own level builder

    red ball

one fun one was the helicopter one where you move blocks into positions that I forget the name of

I forget the exact name of the series, it’s Flight or I Can Fly or something like that. The one with the penguin where you upgrade your glider and try to destroy an iceberg

A pretty good one with a rocket you upgrade and eventually get to Mars that’s fun

Sorry I forget the names, it’s been a while. Most probably aren’t even playable anymore unfortunately

  • Yep I’m doing mechanical engineering, and already like doing CAD on solidworks and have experience on it already so there’s no way I’m going to switch anytime soon. This post really wasnt intended to be trying to find how to run it on Linux, more just to see if it’s even remotely possible out of curiosity.

My current plan is to just run raw windows 11 on the Dell Precision 3571 that I got recently, I don’t use Linux nearly enough on my dual booted PC to warrant putting it on my laptop too, even though the PC will stay at home for the time being

  • I might learn other cad software eventually, but I already have 4 years experience with solidworks and will basically have to use it for college anyways so I won’t get any benefit at the moment. As for gaming, I have gamed on Linux and know it works fine, it is just overall more of a hassle and needs more time than I can commit to right now, at some point I intend on fully switching over as much as I can and properly learning how to maintain Linux.
