Absolutely agree with this statement. They seem to have no pipeline for keeping up with this console lifecycle.
As the owner of a Series X and PS5, they’re just streaming boxes that I occasionally use to play stuff that won’t run under Proton.

can report UEFI installs of PopOS and Mint were recently borked by a Win11 update.
The question is, does the responsibility fall on you to choose games that fit your skill level or the developer to compromise their vision to accomodate a broader audience? Would we take the same stance with other art? I find a lot of Foreign Arthouse Films to be slow paced and unenjoyable. Should the writers and directors be required to make an alternate cut to accomodate my preferences?
The 8bit do ultimates are currently my favorite controller of all time. Own several wired and wireless models (at least 1 of each version).
If you have $70 (less on pretty frequent sales) for the ultimate with Hall Sticks, I can’t recommend it enough. I reach for these over the Xbox Elite, Dual Sense Edge and Razers I used previously.
Simply a fantastic controller. And they work great with the 2.4ghz dongle or just via Bluetooth with the Steam Deck.
I am so, so close to doing the same. Still have a small partition carved out for CoD and Windows. I just find myself booting in to it less and less.
Thank goodness MicroVision seems to be keen on continuing to flog that dead horse with a Warzone focus, means I can finally be free.
Thanks for the rec! Typing on it now. Pretty decent so far. I dig the hover on the word as i swipe
Also posting from a Pixel 7 running Graphene for abouta year. No issues, I use Fdroid for most apps and Aurora when I have too. Only bummer is I haven’t found a good FOSS keyboard with swipe. Really miss gboard for that and gif insertion.
I have seen credits on that game probably three times since it’s launch. Anytime they release it on a new platform I instinctively snap it up.
I do agree that the world feels pretty empty, but it is Mars in their defense. The gameplay loop is so good though. And sometimes there’s no better feeling than grabbing a sledgehammer and leveling a building.
Hopefully you’re able to make it through! There’s a little bit of variety introduced to the environment around the half to three quarter mark.
Are we married to the same person?
There’s always one!
Must of been how they used the little red nub.
I have a Founders account, it’s $5. Not sure what the new customer tier prices are.
But, for the classic “cup of coffee a month” it’s been worth keeping active since they moved to a paid model however many years ago. The first several years were free if you owned a shield TV.
Additionally, they still offer a 100% free tier to anybody.
Been a GeForce Now user since the Shield TV launch. It’s a great thing to have when I don’t want to drag a laptop or console around with me while traveling. $5 a month is absolutely worth it, especially considering it uses my existing libraries.
Then don’t subscribe?
Exact same here. Moved from the Spigen to the JSAUX with screen cover. Absolutely recommend the JSAUX modkit, it may be my end game deck protector (so far).
For cases, I moved from the pack in to the Gen 1 JSAUX about a year or so ago (the ability to store a Anker Powerbrick + wall wart along with some wired buds and USB-c cable was great). That was perfect until I picked up the docking station and wanted to pack that around too…
Currently I have the Large Capacity Case and it’s working great, but man, this thing is unwieldy in a backpack. That said being able to have all of my Steam Deck shit in one spot for trips is pretty awesome and I throw it into a carryon more often than not if I’m taking the whole kit.
Usually though, I’m rolling with just the deck + modkit with screen cover and power pack in this sling bag. Seems to be the most efficient solution so far, as I don’t really need all the extra stuff in seat when I’m flying so it just gets packed in to my checked bag.
Apologies if this sounds like I’m shilling for JSAUX, it’s not. I legitimately have found them to offer the best solutions when it comes to what’s on the market for the Steam Deck currently. Both myself and my partner use their covers and cases, as does my kid.
My only note for improvement is on the size of the large capacity case, but honestly, I don’t think there’s much that could be done to retain capacity and protection. It’s just the nature of how big these portables are going to inherently be.
The amount of my life that I have confused Jason and Matt is almost insufferable. I accept what a terrible person I am.
Renowned Fighting Scientist Matt Rorie?!
It’s like humility will a little extra thank you. Lol
Agree completely. I had a well curated feed on Reddit developed over years and years of careful pruning. I miss a ton of those communities and forgot what the open funnel of Internet sewage was like. Even just a few minutes on the front page of any social media network is enough to send me back to books and blogs. Lol
They (I use that term to mean the average 4channer) were co-opted by alt right propaganda.
Most neckbeard, incel, Andrew Tate followers are what Anon originally was. We just lied to ourselves that it wasn’t really racist and that we were fighting a good fight.
Now, its a bunch of sad lonely people that found acceptance in intolerance and hatred.
